Introducing Terra Incognita Turning a lifetime of routes into a digital ride-along
From black book to interactive map of stories, rides and places
After years of chasing finish lines, Laurens ten Dam collected something even more valuable than podiums: a lifetime of hidden routes, secret stops, and personal memories. His black book was bursting with them. Together with Škoda, we helped transform that into an interactive experience where fans can explore Laurens’ world in their own way.

Scroll the notes, ride the film, and unlock the stories as the movie plays
We designed Terra Incognita as an interactive journey.
While watching the film, viewers can activate ‘Live Notes’.
This lets them jump into scenes, browse Laurens’ personal
notes, or explore more about the places he rides through.
Every note becomes an entry point into bonus content,
hidden scenes, routes, and backstories. Users can also scroll freely through the notes themselves, flipping through the digital notebook to discover routes and scenes at their own pace. It’s an experience that lets you decide how deep you want to go. Ride along with the film. Or take the long route through the notes.

This wasn’t about building a website. It was about giving people a way
to experience Laurens’ world like they were flipping through his notebook.
We needed to create an interactive platform where video, stories,
and routes came together smoothly, all within a tight three-week window.
The modular setup of Terra Incognita makes it easy to expand with new episodes, new routes, and new chapters from Laurens’ black book. Turning his personal notes into an ever-growing world of rides, stories, and roads worth discovering.
